Our Key Stage 4 Team work hard to ensure that students are well prepared for the transition beyond Kingswode Hoe. Our extensive Work Related programme, Careers and tutorial lessons, alongside tailored Work Experience opportunities, enable students to make the right choices about their future studies. We are constantly updating information and resources to ensure they are as well equipped as possible for the different pathways available.
Visits to colleges play an important part in the preparation for Post-16 pathways. Transition advisors work closely with the school, students and families from the point of Annual Review in Year 9. The Essex County Council Website has a number of very useful publications and guides which explain more about this important stage for students, parents and carers. There are links to some of these documents at the bottom of the page.
At Kingswode Hoe School, we organise a series of visits and opportunities to find out more information about the range of courses and pathways available to our students Post-16. We support students to research courses of interest to them and arrange visits to colleges and work environments as appropriate to meet their needs and prepare for the future.
Students also have access to the Travel Training Programme which helps them to gain independence in their approach to use of public transport, therefore widening options for the future. See our Transport page for more information about Travel Training.
Year 10 College Evening
Year 10 had the opportunity recently to meet representatives of a range of different colleges and to find out more about the application process for college.
Our Year 10's and 11's have the opportunity to visit colleges in Suffolk and Essex.
